Midfoot Fractures: Are Lisfranc Injuries Better Treated with Internal Fixation and Fusion?

Injuries to the midfoot joints commonly involve a structure referred to as Lisfranc Joint. Nontreatment of a disruption of this joint frequently results in a collapsed and painful midfoot. Dr. Barei and Dr. Jones compare the treatment results of surgery with primary fusion of the injured joints to results achieved with temporary stabilization.
