Spine Fellowship
One year Advanced Clinical Experiences (ACE) in the areas of foot/ankle, hand/upper extremity, musculoskeletal oncology, pediatrics, shoulder/elbow, spine sports medicine and traumatology surgery are offered through the affiliated University hospitals, which include the University of Washington Medical Center-Montlake (UWMC), University of Washington Medical Center-Northwest (UWNW), Harborview Medical Center (HMC), Seattle Children’s Hospital (SCH), the Seattle Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC), Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center and other affiliated hospitals.

Thank you for your interest in an Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine Preceptorship. A preceptorship is a mentoring experience in which a practicing physician volunteers to give personal instruction, training, and supervision to a medical student during the first two years of medical school.
The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine offers the following clerkships for interested medical students.
Call Expectations for Clerkships in Seattle: All medical students applying into Orthopaedic Surgery are expected to take overnight and weekend call. Students not applying into Orthopaedics who rotate between the months of May and October will also be scheduled to take weekend and overnight call.
