The UW Medicine Cares Awards were established in 2013 to formally recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of individuals and teams who consistently exemplify UW Medicine Service Culture Guidelines. Nominees go above and beyond to support other members of the UW Medicine community, both patients and colleagues.
Following is text from Dr. Boe's nomination:
Dr. Boe is an exceptional clinician who takes incredible care of our patients at UW. She always goes above and beyond to do the right thing - she never says no to seeing a patient or fitting someone in, even when her clinic is 14+ patients overbooked. She also spends an inordinate amount of time teaching our residents and fellows. She stays late, allows them autonomy in the cases, provides appropriate guidance and does not just pass people along. She is an exemplary leader for all educators.
