The 2016 edition of US News & World Report’s Best Hospitals ranks UW Medical Center #27 nationally for orthopaedics and #1 in Washington state and Seattle for orthopaedics.
Seattle Children’s Hospital was also ranked #24 nationally for orthopaedics and #1 in Washington state and Seattle for orthopaedics.
US News & World Report also recognized UW Medical Center as a “High Performing” hospital for knee replacement. “High Performing” means that the hospital is in the top 10% of ratings for this procedure. High performing hospitals exceed expected standards of care.
Highlights of the 2016 Best Hospitals report include:
- UW Medical Center received high marks in orthopaedics for specialists recommendations, survival score, nurse staffing, and patient service.
- Seattle Children’s scored well in orthoparedics for specialists recommendations, fracture repair, surgical complications prevention, and overall infection prevention.
- Harborview Medical Center was rated “High Performing” for orthopedics and was ranked the #6 overall hospital in Seattle and received the 2nd highest rating for orthopaedics in Seattle behind UW Medical Center.
