
Dr. Ronald Kwon and Emily Ramirez from the Musculoskeletal Systems Biology Lab visited Kingston High School to introduce students to their research using CRISPR RNA technology to study osteoporosis in zebrafish. Students got hands-on experience with CRISPR models, identified mock DNA strand breaks, and viewed gene-edited zebrafish embryos up close.
Emily Ramirez is an undergraduate in the Musculoskeletal Biology Lab and graduated from Kingston High School in 2021. Emily is majoring in Biology and Public Health and preparing to apply for graduate school. Emily and Dr. Kwon visited the Kingston High School AP Biology class and Emily shared how her passion for science was shaped at Kingston High School.
