Hip Fractures in Adolescents
Pediatric fractures around the hip of children and adolescents can be of very high concern due to the potential for other injuries and the potential for altering the growth pattern of children. Dr. Walter Krengel from Seattle Childrens Hospital and Clinical Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine at the UW teams up with Dr. Samir Mehta, Assistant Professor of Orthopaedics at the University of Pennsylvania to discuss indications for emergent interventions and surgical treatments and outcomes of proximal femur and hip fractures in this vulnerable patient population.
