Ellie Sato, MD, is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic trauma surgeon and assistant professor at Harborview Medical Center. She specializes in comprehensive fracture care including caring for complex polytrauma patients, periarticular fractures, and the sequela of trauma such as post-traumatic deformity and nonunions.
Dr. Sato is dedicated to comprehensive care of the orthopaedic trauma patient and understands the significant, often unanticipated impact that injury can have on patients and their lives. She practices a patient-centered, team-based approach and is committed to providing high-quality care to a diverse patient population.
Dr. Sato’s clinical interests focus on the treatment of acute periarticular injuries of the extremities and their sequelae, including nonunions, malunions, infections, and post-traumatic arthritis. She is also engaged in global health initiatives and resident education in the United States and internationally, with the goal of advancing orthopaedic trauma care worldwide. She is also actively engaged in clinical research, with a focus on fracture healing, complication prevention, and strategies to optimize patient recovery after injury.
Dr. Sato enjoys spending time with her husband and black lab, Rio, and love anything outdoors - biking, hiking, camping, going to concerts, and traveling.
