Course Objectives
- Discuss state-of-the-art care for the patient with severe musculoskeletal injuries and in particular knee injuries
- Describe on-going research endeavors in the field of orthopaedic trauma and knee surgery especially in areas of enhanced patient outcomes research and patient safety in orthopaedic trauma surgery and knee reconstructive surgery
- Describe surgical anatomy necessary for the advanced surgical techniques
- Discuss treatment algorithms currently in use for fractures and soft tissue injuries and knee injury care and aftercare
- Recognize controversies and deficiencies of current knowledge base and attempt to resolve these
