stated Stanley A. Herring, MD, FACSM, chair of a group of sports medicine organizations, including the American College of Sports Medicine, which has published new guidelines for team physicians, which include guidance on ethical and medicolegal issues concerning treatment of athletes. Dr. Herring is also a team physician for the Seattle Seahawks and Seattle Mariners.
