Dr. Peter Cavanagh interviewed on KOMO radio about the effects of long term space travel on the human body

Dr. Peter CavanaghWith the return of astronaut Scott Kelly from the International Space Station and with NASA's plan to eventually send astronauts to Mars, there has been much interest in the effects of long-term space travel on the human body.

Scott Kelly's 340 days aboard the International Space Station was the 4th longest space flight. Kelly's time on the International Space Station will help NASA develop countermeasures to some of the challenges facing long-term space travel.

Dr. Peter Cavanagh has spent decades studying the effects of space travel on the human body and has worked with NASA on ways to reduce bone loss during long-term space travel.

Dr. Cavanagh appeared on KOMO radio yesterday to talk about some of the challenges facing long-term space travel.
