Cartilage Injury Risk Calculator for Hip Arthroscopy

The following calculator can be used for determining the chances of finding a full-thickness cartilage defect at the time of hip arthroscopy, for purpose of preoperative patient counseling.

Based off the patient’s hip MRI findings (1.5 Tesla, 3 Tesla, arthrogram, or non-arthrogram), please select the radio button yes/no options below, enter patient’s sex and age, and click submit to calculate.

These data are based off the MRI results of over 500 patients collected in a prospective database, made possible by collaboration with the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, the University of Iowa, and Columbia University.
